A postcard setting, great food and time spent with your best four-legged friend... There's no better way to spend a Saturday afternoon and this year's Pet Picnic, held at Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant on December 6th, was a dog gone good time.

A little princess decked in crepe and a prince in a satin smoking jacket were just a few of the models that sauntered down the runway at the Third Annual Pet Picnic. The patio at Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant hosted some of the best-dressed dogs in the bay. Many had a chance to show off fashions by Haute Dogue.

"I think this year's event was the best in three years and it's only getting better every year and I think many more people should come," said poodle parent Ellen Beck, "and I think it was a heck of a lot of fun for both the dogs and their owners."

The festivities also included a raffle, contests for the most obedient and best dressed dog - plus a picnic lunch and doggie bag.

"I love it, it's such a fun thing to do," said picnic guest Sandra Anderson. "This is my favorite event. The most amazing thing is how well the dogs get along, they have more fun than we do... it's a delight."

Just under $19,000 pesos were raised for Ayuda a los Animals, part of the PEACE non-profit association. They host the high-volume, mobile, spay and neuter clinics throughout the area. For more information, click HERE or visit PeaceMexico.org.

Daiquiri Dick's contemporary design exudes a quiet elegance that invites relaxation, and its tropical location at Olas Altas 314 on Los Muertos Beach offers the perfect atmosphere for enjoying spectacular views of Banderas Bay.
