Just in case you missed it... Don't worry, it is always a party at Daiquiri Dick's! The good food and fun never stops, along with daily menu specials. (Video Diva Productions)

From March 4-6, 2011, party-goers enjoyed a three-day Mardi Gras celebration at Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant in Puerto Vallarta.

The party started on Friday with Daiquiri Dick's special Mardi Gras inspired dinner menu, which was served all weekend long, and continued throughout the weekend with a Big Easy Brunch menu, live entertainment on Saturday and a fashion show on Sunday.

"Oh I loved it I am glad so many people came out," exclaimed Mardi Gras fan, Ty Rudolph. "We need more of this because Mexico has such a bad rap right now."

Audience participation was only part of the act during Saturday's show by dance troupe Darudha. The Rio-style performance delighted the audience, along with the New Orleans' inspired dinner menu. It included broiled Mussels Rockefeller, Blackened Salmon with cherry tomato confit, Crawfish Etoufee and Spare Ribs along with Lemon Icebox Pie.

At around 10:30 pm, the outrageous 2011 Puerto Vallarta Carnaval Parade passed right outside the restaurant. This is the third year for this festive spectacle and there were around 50 entries and thousands of spectators.

"It was great," laughs parade lover Larry Breidenbach. "It was a way to get the community all together blending all the business efforts and it was fun."

The party continued on Sunday morning with a Big Easy brunch menu. Beignets, large Muffulettas, Polenta topped with Andouille Sausage and Eggs, and Creole Quiche.

Plus there was a fashion show by two local boutiques, Encore and Flirts. "I think it's a wonderful idea, it's something women really like to do but rarely if ever get the opportunity," says Doris Heuer, Fashionista, "So this hit all the marks."

Hopefully you left room for dessert, bananas foster crepe with vanilla ice cream. Nice.

The staff hopes to top this next year. Daiquiri Dick's, your Mardi Gras party place.

Daiquiri Dick's contemporary design exudes a quiet elegance that invites relaxation, and its tropical location at Olas Altas 314 on Los Muertos Beach offers the perfect atmosphere for enjoying spectacular views of Banderas Bay.
