Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - In this edition of Living in Paradise, we stop by the Old Town Farmers' Market, which wraps-up its second season on June 4th, and visit with Puerto Vallarta food critic Gary R. Beck as he enjoyed the special Restaurant Week 2011 menu at El Dorado Restaurant Bar and Beach Club.

Recently, we talked with the founder of Puerto Vallarta's Old Town Farmers' Market, Charlotte Semple, who told us that the Market's primary objective is to provide a place where local entrepreneurs can market their products directly to the public.

For a product to be approved for sale at the market, a vendor must make it, bake it or grow it locally. No reselling of products is allowed. With little capital investment vendors have an opportunity to test their ideas on the public, and a number of vendors have gone on to create successful storefronts in Vallarta.

On Saturday, June 4, the Puerto Vallarta Old Town Farmer's Market will finish an incredibly successful second season, so be sure and stop by from 10 am to 2 pm to stock up before it closes for the summer. The Market will reopen on the first Saturday in November.
