February Activities at the International Friendship Club

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - There are lots of entertaining and educational activities going on at the Puerto Vallarta International Friendship Club (IFC) over the next few weeks. Join us as we raise funds for various worthy charities in the Banderas Bay area.

List of February Activities at the International Friendship Club

VALENTINES DAY DINNER DANCE
Come and join us for our St. Valentine's Day Dinner Dance at Mi Pueblito's Restaurant in The Los Arcos Hotel on Olas Altas in Zona Romantica on February 14, 2012 at 6 pm. Tickets are $350 pesos per person (visit IFCVallarta.com for more details.)

MINDFULNESS MEDIATION GROUP
Every Saturday from 8:30 am to 10 am. Open to all levels of experience and religious background. Guided by Dan Grippo.

BRIDGE LESSONS at the IFC
Monday Morning from 10 am to 1 pm please note the new time Beginners Bridge Lessons with Murray Beer. Members admitted free and for non-members the cost is only $50 pesos.

MONDAY NIGHT MOVIE
At the IFC. Doors open 6:45 pm and the movie starts at 7:15. The price is $40 pesos for all and includes free popcorn

February 20 - Abducted, starring Taylor Lautner

SPANISH LESSONS
Please note that a new conversation class will be given starting Monday, January 23. Times are from 2:30 to 3:45. Conversation class for intermediate and advanced students only. Cost for members $60 pesos and non-members $80 pesos.

Spanish lessons are held on Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. Monday is Spanish 101, Tuesday is Spanish 201, and Thursday is practice of communication skills, no new materials are introduce on that day.

Basic: 9:00 to 10:15; Intermediate: 10:30 to 11:45; Advance: 12:00 to 1:15 pm. Cost for members is $60 pesos per class and $80 for non-members. All classes meet at the IFC.

IFC HOME TOURS
Every Wednesday & Thursday since 1987 the IFC has conducted the Home Tours for charities, and more specifically our Cleft Palate Quarterly Surgery Program. This program also includes: dentist follow up, speech therapy, and additional surgeries when needed. The cost is $450 pesos per person. Tickets can be purchased in advance using a credit card online or in cash at the IFC clubhouse on the day of the event. Home Tours meet on Aquiles Serdan and Vallarta in front of Albufera Restaurant at 9:30 am.

IFC BAZAAR
Held on Wednesday, February 15th. Sellers set-up at 9am and the cost is $50 pesos per table. Sale opens to the public from 10 am and goes to 2 pm.

ZAPOTEC ART PRESENTATION and SALE
Held at IFC on Wednesday, February 22 from 10 am to 3 pm. Oaxaca rugs, tablecloths, bedspreads and pillow covers will be shown. Albert from Zapotec Art in Vallarta will do the presentations and have a wide variety of items for sale.

NOTABLE TRIALS OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY
Dan Lanahan continues his well-received lecture series at the IFC on Tuesdays from 2:00 to 4:00 through February 14. Cost is $80 pesos for members and $100 for non members.

WEDNESDAY'S OPERA NIGHT
Come to the IFC on February 8th, 15th, and 22nd and spend a gala evening with Murray Beer. Murray will be presenting the Sound of Music and The Life of Joan Sutherland. The intermission will include champagne and biscotti! Formal dress is not required. The show starts at 7 pm and costs $80 pesos for members and non-Members pay only $100 pesos.

DESIGNER SHOWCASE
IFC presents the very first Showcase of Puerto Vallarta Interior Designers Sunday, February 26 2012, at Hotel Rosita in El Centro, from 10:30 am to 7 pm. Whether you are decorating for the first time, remodeling, or just want to get ideas, come visit the design show. Admission is $100 pesos per person. Parking is conveniently located one block north at the NE corner of Hidalgo Park.

This IFC fundraiser will continue to help in its work to provide free surgeries for children with cleft palates and to give support to several other organizations.

WATERCOLOR CLASSES WITH MARYLYNN
Every Saturday through March 24 from 11:30 to 2:00 at the IFC, MaryLynn will offer her watercolor classes. As we did last year, we will complete a painting per session. Cost per member $50 pesos and $80 pesos per non-member.

EVERY FRIDAY at the IFC CLUBHOUSE
Bridge - From 2 pm to 5 pm. Open to all members that enjoys a friendly bridge game. Free to members and non-members pay $50 pesos each.

Cocktail Hour - You are all invited to join us for our 5 pm cocktail. Come and say hello, make friends, and complete your evening by coming along to one of our preferred restaurants and enjoy a great dinner, a discount, and an individual bill to boot in fun relaxed company. Join us at Bolero Restaurant on Friday January 27.

DAN GRIPPO'S LECTURE SERIES
The Mayan Worldview and the Meaning of 2012: Beginnings, Endings, Cycle. On Friday, Feb 10th at 10:30 am until 12 pm.

All activities take place at the IFC Clubhouse unless otherwise noted. The IFC clubhouse is located at the northeast corner of the Rio Cuale Bridge above the HSBC Bank.
