International Friendship Club's January Special Events

With your support, the International Friendship Club's special fund raising events will continue to put a smile on the faces of many of the less fortunate in Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding area.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - In addition to its weekly recurring activities, the International Friendship Club (IFC) would like to invite you to attend some special events in January.

Scavenger Hunt

The second annual Scavenger Hunt will be held on Monday, January 21st at the Oceano Restauranton on the Malecon across from Cheeky Monkey at 11 am. The price is $250 pesos per person and this year you can submit your own team of four or we can partner you up with someone else who doesnít have a team. Max: 4 per team. Buffet lunch is included. Get your ticket at the IFC office early - last year 100 people participated!

IFC Original Home Tours

IFC Home Tours have already resumed and there are many new homes on tour this season! The proceeds from these every Wednesday and Thursday tours fund a number of Puerto Vallarta charities, primarily the IFC Cleft Palate Surgical Program and other Educational and Community Service Programs.

Get your tickets in advance at the IFC office or online at or The cost is $450 pesos and can also be paid in cash the day of the tour or at the IFC office in advance.

Bo-Zo Tours - Botanical Gardens and the Zoo!

This special tour will run every other Tuesday. It began on January 15th and goes through March 26th. You will visit the Zoo and the Botanical Gardens, hence the name Bo-Zo. Be sure to bring your camera, comfortable walking shoes, sunscreen, and insect repellent.

The tour will head first to the gorgeous Vallarta Botanical Gardens which opened in 2004 and has added and improved each year. It has gained international attention for its 20 acres containing hundreds of native tropical plants. There is also a guided tour available and you can purchase lunch in the gardenís restaurant if you choose.

From the Botanical Gardens, the bus tour heads to the Puerto Vallarta Zoo in Mismaloya where it will spend two hours exploring the grounds and seeing the over 100 species of birds, mammals, and reptiles that live there. The zoo has only been open since 2005, so many people have yet to see the many species there that are native to this area as well as those from other continents. Hand-feeding of some species is allowed to enhance this great experience.

The cost for this day-long excursion is just $450 pesos and the bus will seat only a limited number of guests so get your tickets in advance at the IFC Clubhouse, or order them online. For more details go to and click on Bo-Zo tour.

Cleft Palate Program

Please note that the next Cleft Palate Program will be held on January 23rd, 24th, and 25th. Consultations will be held at the IFC Clubhouse on January 23rd from 2 pm to 6 pm, with surgeries following the next day at the CMQ Premier Hospital.
