Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. Here's a look at some of this week's Vallarta-Nayarit news headlines, community announcements and a couple of weekend events that you won't want to miss.

SEPCADE Feria de la Pizza at Los Arcos del Malecón

If you like pizza, rock and roll, and helping others you won't want to miss the SEPCADE Feria de la Pizza at Los Arcos del Malecón on Saturday, October 1, 2016. From 4:00-11:00 pm, five Puerto Vallarta restaurants - La Posta, The Pizza House, Reggae Pizza, Rosappetit Pizzas and Bravo Pizza - will be serving up their best pies to raise funds that will help SEPCADE (Secretary of People with Disabilities and Special Needs) buy orthopedic equipment so that people in this sector can live life to its fullest. Some of the best Rock, Reggae, Alternative Rock, Punk and Metal bands in Puerto Vallarta - including The Black Hardies, Ana Breaks, Antorcha, Three Circus, Rotten Pork, Time Machin and LetrasPV - will provide free entertainment during the event. So, if you and your family are looking for something fun to do this Saturday, head downtown and enjoy some great pizza and free entertainment - all for a good cause! For more information, visit the FeriadelaPizzaPV event page on Facebook.

Amapas Neighborhood Association Has a New Office

The Amapas Neighborhood Association (ANA), a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all residents and businesses in the Colonia Amapas area of Puerto Vallarta, now has a new office in the San Marino Hotel on Rodolfo Gomez, and they need to furnish the space. They began with two major donations: one from an anonymous contributor for $10,000 pesos/$526 USD and another from Casa Cupula for a table, 4 chairs and an air conditioner worth $16,000 pesos or $842 USD. But they still need some help to cover the costs of office furniture, supplies and renovations. A GoFundMe account has been set up to collect donations. Please consider supporting the Amapas Neighborhood Association as they continue in their work of enhancing the quality of life through improvements in security, streets and infrastructure, and responsible development in the Colonia Amapas area of Puerto Vallarta.
