Puerto Vallarta Mayor to Give his First "State of the Municipality" Report

On Friday, September 9 at 7:00 pm, Mayor Arturo Peña Dávalos will give his first "State of the Municipality" report at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center. After being sworn in at an open-air ceremony at Los Arcos de Malecón on September 30, 2015, Dávalos Peña gave a clear and precise speech outlining what his government would do during his 3-year term in office, including specific commitments and established deadlines for results. At that time, he vowed to make Puerto Vallarta a 'Thriving, Fair, Safe, Functional and Green City.' On Friday, he will report on the progress that has been made in the first eleven months of his administration. "We must give the citizens an account of what has been done during this government's term. The things we have accomplished thus far leave evidence that we are working with professionalism, we are working with a love of this city; bumping into problems and trying to solve them; tackling those that have been dragging on for a long time... we know that they can not all be solved overnight, but nevertheless, we are working on them and have made progress," the Mayor said. "The results of some of these actions can already be seen, such as: the purchase of machinery for the care of the roads; the acquisition of police cars and garbage trucks; housing and education support through social programs; rescuing the municipality's public finances and infrastructure management; and forming an alliance with federal and state authorities along with private initiatives to improve the living conditions and wellness of Vallarta families." All of this will be verified during the Mayor's report on September 9 at the Convention Center, where you can also see an exhibition of equipment and vehicles purchased by this government.

'Love Mexico 2016' Destination Wedding Conference

From December 5-8, Puerto Vallarta will welcome more than 500 wedding professionals, as the Grand Fiesta Americana, an all inclusive adults-only resort that opened in 2015, hosts 'Love Mexico 2016.' The event will cover everything relevant to the romance industry through keynote speeches, forums, workshops, a "best practices" exchange, and a special Mexico destination weddings exhibition that covers everything from the rehearsal dinner, to spiritual and egalitarian wedding ceremonies, to the latest trends in bridal fashion and planning tours, activities and events for the bridal party. Mexico's proximity to the United States has made it the number one international destination for Americans in general and, as so many of Mexico's visitors are repeat guests, it's no surprise that many couples choose Mexico as the setting for such a monumental date in their lives. With a mixture of cultural and beach destinations as well as economic incentives, Mexico is the ultimate destination for weddings, honeymoons, bachelor/bachelorette getaways and more. Boasting 2-digit increases annually, the weddings and romance business is one of the fastest growing segment within the tourism industry, which makes 'Love Mexico 2016' a must for wedding planners, organizers and coordinators. The event is designed to serve as an open exchange of ideas and strategies while also being an amazing opportunity to network in a non-client, non-competitive environment. More info »
