March News from the Entreamigos Community Center

March 14, 2017

On March 3, the Entreamigos Community Center celebrated 11 years of providing educational opportunities for kids and families in San Francisco through the 9th Annual Festival de Arte Infantil and community fair.

San Pancho, Nayarit - Here's the latest news from Entreamigos, an active community center whose primary focus is to increase educational opportunities for the children of San Francisco (a.k.a. San Pancho), Nayarit, Mexico.

Bright Colors and People at the 9th Children's Art Festival & Environmental Fair

We had an amazing day on Friday March 3rd at our annual Children's Art Festival and Environmental Fair. We started the day with student visits at Entreamigos from schools across the region. In the afternoon, we helped kids decorate their bicycles and get ready for the distinctive-perky-magical-animalesque parade to Plaza del Sol square, where all kinds of carnival-environmental games, workshops and activities were shared with the community. We ended the celebration with an awesome presentation by 85 talented kids from the Puerto Vallarta Orchestra School. Thank you for being a part of this annual event which represents our core values: education, creativity, environment, community, love. Entreamigos' New Leadership Team

Entreamigos is thrilled to introduce you to Glenda, Frieda and Sarah as the new leadership team of this beautiful multi cultural Community Center. This team represents the future, a fresh cycle for ideas and actions, infinite possibilities and lots of love... as always! This transition will happen over the next few months and we will send out more details in the coming weeks. Nicole, Plantate and Indira will continue in their commitment and support for as long as it is needed to launch the new team with all of the skills and confidence to take on the challenge. We invite you to support them as you support Entreamigos in this new adventure!

Community Art to Help Ocean Life

During the months of March and April, we will be the second destination to host "Metamorfosis Marina" a project that protects life from human waste. It will begin Saturday, March 18th with a Stream Clean Up that will gather some of the trash used for a giant hunchback whale installation sculpture made out of recycled materials! Different groups of kids and adults are being organized to contribute with a piece of this work of art led by Leyla Issa Venegas. Stay tuned to our Facebook Page for more information or come join in the fun!

Circo de los Niños Show is happening March 22-25 in San Pancho!

Mark your calendars! "Sueño de una noche de verano" is a chance to be part of a beautiful and unique artistic experience with 80 young performers presenting their talent guided and directed by Gilles Ste Croix (co-creator of Cirque du Soleil and co-founder of this local Circus school). Show dates are March 22 to 25 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are still available online or at the Bodega Circo (Mondays to Fridays 5-6 pm) and at the Sayulita (Friday) and San Pancho (Tuesday) markets!

Entreamigos primary focus is to increase educational opportunities for the children of San Pancho in Nayarit Mexico. To achieve these goals Entreamigos runs an art collective non-profit store, a library, a computer center and a collection of educational and community based workshops and initiatives. Entreamigos is entirely funded by donations and almost completely run by volunteers. To learn more about our programs and activities please visit entreamigos.org.mx.
