Riverfest 7 Raised $362,640 Pesos for Pasitos de Luz

March 9, 2018

Riverfest 2017 brought in a record $311,000 pesos. All of you helped us sail right past that to an ALL-TIME record of $362,640 pesos for Riverfest 2018! We are humbled by the generosity of Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - How do we begin to thank everyone for all of the support that made Riverfest 2018 THE event of the year? It's a huge undertaking and the major fundraiser for Pasitos de Luz, a marvelous day care facility for local children with special needs. No one needs help more than those beautiful kids and their families.

Thank you to the musicians, vendors, supporting restaurants Pasta Fresca and Barcelona Tapas, MC Ron Spencer (Vera Carp) and behind-the-scenes people like the technicians, the media - Tribune, Banderas News, Vallarta Lifestyles and PV Mirror, PrintPV our sponsor printers, the attendees, 50/50 and auction purchasers, and the businesses and individuals who year after year donate auction items.

The vendors and massage personnel who donated a percent of their proceeds, Alex Daoud who donated all of his proceeds, friends who donated though could not attend, people who stopped us on the street or showed up at the event to offer donations or auction items, the musicians who turned over their tips, a community group who showed up with $4600 pesos in an envelope... the generosity came from so many members of the community.

And we could never give enough thanks to El Rio BBQ owner Kurt Sinner, the vision behind Riverfest who also donates a percent of proceeds, for his support and for believing in Pasitos de Luz.

And, once again, the results were Amazing!

Gate - we had 200 people pay 50 pesos at the gate on Friday, 341 people paid 100 pesos at the Gate on Saturday, and 305 people paid 50 pesos at the gate on Sunday. Add in 142 patron tickets sold and we saw 1000 people last weekend.

50/50 - we had four draws in total. Winners Charlotte, Val Moon, who gave back 6700 pesos of her half of the winnings, and Ginger Carpenter and John Foster gave back all their winnings. From the 50/50 draws, Pasitos made a total of $36,700 pesos.

Auction - we had about 165 incredible items up for bid. The impact of the auction can never be underestimated Pasitos made $132,690 pesos from the auctions. All of YOU made a huge difference in the total amount raised!

Last year, Riverfest 2017 brought in a record $311,000 pesos.

All of you helped us sail right past that to an ALL-TIME Riverfest record of $362,640 pesos for 2018! We are humbled by the generosity of Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay. Mil Gracias a todos!
