Don't Wait, Return Your Voted Ballot Right Away!

October 12, 2018

Ballots should have been emailed to voters living outside the U.S. by September 22. If you've received yours, we can help you get your ballot mailed back to the U.S., and recieved in time to be counted.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - The majority of states require voted ballots to reach local election officials by the close of polls on Tuesday, November 6th. U.S. citizens who live in Mexico and want to participate in the 2018 U.S. elections should already have returned their absentee ballots to their local election officials.

Never received your ballot? If you have registered to vote and requested your absentee ballot prior to your state's registration and absentee ballot request deadlines but have not yet received your ballot, you should immediately complete and return a Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot to ensure your vote reaches election officials by your state's deadline.

If your regular ballot arrives later, go ahead and complete and return it as well. Your Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot will only be counted if your regular ballot does not reach local election officials by your state's deadline. Your vote will not be counted twice.

Vote from Abroad volunteers will accept your ballots for return to the U.S. on time next Wednesday from 10:30 to 2:30 in front of Daiquiri Dick's Restaurant at the south end of the Malecón. Or, you could consider returning your ballot to the U.S. via a mail forwarding service like I Shop & Mail or Mailboxes, Etc. It will take 8 to 10 days to be received from the date of mailing. Check your state's voting procedures at FVAP.gov for guidance.

Some states allow you to return a ballot by FAX or email. Returning your Federal Write-in Absentee Ballot by email or fax. Consult and carefully review your state's voting procedures at FVAP.gov.
