Stars will Shine at the 2018 Red Ribbon Gala for SETAC

November 16, 2018
These wonderful Mariachi will serenade you from 7:00-8:00 pm, while you are enjoying the 4-course meal prepared by 11 of the best restaurants in Puerto Vallarta at the 2018 Red Ribbon Gala to benefit SETAC.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - SETAC event organizers are pleased to announce that Gavin Creel, Tony-award winning singer/actor, and Seth Rudetsky, Emmy-nominated comedy writer and current afternoon deejay on the SiriusXM Broadway channel, will be entertaining the crowd at the upcoming Red Ribbon Gala, be held on Wednesday, December 5 from 6:00-10:00 pm at Mantamar Beach Club on Playa Los Muertos.

Gavin Creel received a Tony Award for his performance as "Cornelius Hackl" in the acclaimed 2017 revival of Hello, Dolly! starring Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce. Gavin made his Broadway debut originating the role of "Jimmy Smith" in Thoroughly Modern Millie, for which he received his first Tony Award nomination.

Gavin has since created such memorable performances on Broadway as "Jean-Michel" in the 2004 revival of La Cage Aux Folles, "Claude" in the 2009 revival of Hair, which earned him a second Tony Award nomination, and "Stephen Kodaly" in the Roundabout Theater Company’s 2016 revival of She Loves Me, which was filmed live and is available on BroadwayHD.

No stranger to London audiences, Gavin most notably originated the role of "Elder Price" in the West End production of The Book of Mormon, for which he received the 2014 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical. He also starred as "Bert" in Disney’s Mary Poppins and the revival of Hair.

Seth Rudetsky spent many years on Broadway as a pianist and conductor as well as two years as a comedy writer on The Rosie O'Donnell Show (three Emmy nominations). He is now the afternoon deejay on the SiriusXM Broadway channel as well the host of Seth Speaks.

He has performed his show, Deconstructing Broadway, in London, Boston (Irne award) and Los Angeles. (With Barbra Streisand in the audience!) He co-wrote and co-starred in Disaster! (NY Times critics' pick) on Broadway, which was licensed by Music Theater International and is being performed around the country.

He's written Seth's Broadway Diary Volume 1 and 2 (Dress Circle publishing) and has also authored two young adult novels: My Awesome/Awful Popularity Plan and The Rise and Fall of a Theater Geek (Random House).

With such accomplished world-class performers not normally available in Puerto Vallarta, this year's Gala promises to be an entertaining night! The performers' participation is made possible by SETAC's close association with Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and its executive director, Tom Viola. Broadway Cares has been a stalwart SETAC sponsor for several years.

With the gala once again being planned and organized by local event designers Yanina Haddad from LOve Producciones PV and Robert Schley of Mexico Event Design, the 2018 Red Ribbon Gala is sure to delight guests!
