On April 2nd, World Autism Awareness Day, Banana Cantina, along with guests from the US, Mexico, Scotland and Canada raised $4120 pesos for AUTISM02.

On April 2nd, in celebration of the first International celebration of World Autism Awareness Day, Puerto Vallarta restaurant owners Mike and Debbi Egan, along with guests from the US, Mexico, Scotland and Canada did their part to support local families and children with Autism, raising $4120 pesos for AUTISM02.

Candace of Fishing with Carolina was the special guest host, along with Alec from Geneva, IL, who called out "Last call for raffle tickets!" many times. Alec is a wonderful and charming guy who is full of excitement for life - as proved that night. He had so much fun, he left saying that he is going to be playing "Charity Night Raffle" with his friends when he gets home.

Raffle prizes include gift certificates from Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, Mama Dolores Diner, Encuentros Lounge and Pizza Bar, Bruce's Back Alley, OohLaLa and La Palapa. Proceeds from all the fun, along with 10% of the restaurant's gross receipts, were donated to AUTISM02, a non-profit clinic with a Hyperbaric Chamber for those suffering from Autism, MS, Fibromyalgia, Cancer, Stroke and other debilitating conditions.

The excitement continued with bartender Johnny doing magic tricks, then down to Choco Banana where the boys got to help Nikki make their own frozen banana treats that they won in the raffle.

If you haven't experienced Charity Night yet, plan on stopping by Banana Cantina next Wednesday night between 7-10 pm. Guest hosts blu by Len Salon and Spa owner Len, his partner Larry Sheldon and fundraiser extraordinaire Sudy Coy will be turning the night upside down and inside out, while raising much needed funds for R.I.S.E.

Start making plans now to have dinner at Banana Cantina on Wednesday, April 9th. But - be warned! - we are going to make you laugh, trade, buy, bid, eat, drink and buy some more... all in the spirit of supporting a great local charity.

With all the fun that's planned reservations are expected to sell out quickly, so call Banana Cantina at (322) 222-2114 or send an email to pvbananacantina(at)aol.com to book your table TODAY!
