The Sea Turtle Release Program is in full swing as hundreds of Sea Turtles arrive at local beaches along the bay.
Puerto Vallarta goes green! The jungle covered mountains and hills surrounding Puerto Vallarta are glowing with new growth and are almost an emerald green at this time of year.

Coincidentally, a new group currently called the Puerto Vallarta Garden Club had its first meeting, and has some great plans for adding even more green areas and tropical flowers to Puerto Vallarta. They are also working on plans for events such as an annual Bougainvillea Festival and tours of local gardens.

The garden tour will showcase many of the spectacular villas in the area and owners who are happy open their gates and show off their gardens. The credit for the effort and inspiration behind the PV Garden club goes to the owners of the spectacular Vallarta Botanical Gardens and Gary Beck a local resident and restaurant critic. Gary is finding time between visiting all of PV's amazing gourmet restaurants to work on adding flowers and beautifying the area.

The Sea Turtle Release Program is in full swing as hundreds of Sea Turtles arrive at local beaches along the bay. The Turtles do not seem to discriminate about the beaches they choose and can be seen on the beach in front of the famous Puerto Vallarta Malecón, the hot spot for night life and popular restaurants, as well as beaches in front of resorts and luxury villas. The Turtle release program is becoming an amazing experience attracting tourists and saving an endangered species.

The AARP (American Association of Retired Persons) has chosen Puerto Vallarta as a one of the preferred places to retire. It goes without saying that most places that are great to retire have many of the same attractions you want in a Vacation destination: great climate, easy access from the US, safety and much more.

Check the AARP website for a full page about Puerto Vallarta, the friendliness of the local people and great lifestyle were top reasons. With more then 10 world class golf courses in the area, sports fishing and much more it is easy to see the attraction for visitors and retirees.

Local Travel Company Wins Award from Conde Nast Traveler

The owner of a local travel company - Journey Mexico's own Zachary Rabinor - was named one of the world's top 135 Travel Specialists for 2010. For more details, see the August 2010 addition of Conde Nast on page 115.

The 9th Annual People's Choice Awards for best restaurants in Vallarta are out and no surprise Trio is again one of the best overall. Thanks to Virtual Vallarta for helping us choose, when there are so many great choices.

Vallarta is becoming known as a gourmet destination, but even if you prefer funky and casual this list has something for everyone.

There is no better way to forget the stress and hustle and bustle of everyday life than through escaping to a private villa or well appointed condo in Puerto Vallarta or Riviera Nayarit.
