No Way José! and the PuRR Project raise over $35,000 Pesos for the local no-kill cat shelter playing Mexican Lotería every other week from early December to late April.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – A big “MEOW” to the hundreds of people that came out in support and played Mexican Lotería at No Way José! from early December to late April to raise funds for our local no-kill cat shelter, the PuRR Project (formerly known as Pet Heaven.) Over $35,000 Pesos was raised for this much-needed non-profit organization.

Players improved their Spanish and enjoyed drink and food specials while playing Mexican Lotería and won great prizes throughout the season including dinners at No Way José!, Daiquiri Dick’s, and The River Café, discounts at Taste, a 3-night stay at a luxury condominium at Los Palmares, breakfast at the Westin Hotel, a free salsa dance lesson, bottles of wine, a free class at Yoga Vallarta, a day pass to Pump’s Gym, manicures, doggy hair cuts or vet consultations, a free session with a personal trainer at Gold’s Gym, free skin care consultation, etc. The list goes on and on!

Some of the favorite moments of the season include when José Alfredo Gonzalez, one of the owners of No Way José!, would break out into song, when the drag queen Beverly Fairfax was the guest caller, or each time the Mermaid (La Sirena) was called, guests’ would always proclaim that is was the lovely Julie Guerrero, the other owner of No Way José!

Week after week, fun was had by all! Don't miss out on next year’s memorable events to be announced later this fall.

Named the "Best New Restaurant" in Vallarta Lifestyles' 2010 Readers Choice Awards, No Way José! is located on the south side of downtown at 5 de Febrero #260, just over the Vallarta street bridge on your left.
