This Weekend's Events & Happenings in Puerto Vallarta

June 9, 2017

From live music and theater to cultural festivals, sporting events, charitable efforts and special interest group meetings, there's always something fun happening in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico - There's always so much going on in Puerto Vallarta and around Banderas Bay, it can be difficult to keep up with it all. Here's a look at some upcoming happenings around the Bay, a few community announcements, and a couple of this weekend's events that you won't want to miss.

Swiss Performing Arts Troupe Presents Per Te. at Teatro Vallarta

Per Te., the internationally acclaimed show by Swiss director, actor, choreographer and producer Daniele Finzi Pasca, will fill Teatro Vallarta with music, poetry, lights and colors this weekend. A theatrical and poetic dedication to the co-founder of the theater company, Julie Hamelin Finzi, who died in May 2016 after a long illness, Per Te. uses perfectly synchronized fans, music and a mixture of performances, circus acts and acrobats in medieval armor on scenic quests to create an homage full of love and light that touches on subjects such as death, pain, beauty and art. Centered around a red bench in a garden, the show tells the story of a book given as a present, of a garden to build, of a fight that we all, sooner or later, will have to experience and face. Presented by Finzi Pasca, the creators of concepts like La Verita and Cirque du Soleil's Luzia: A Waking Dream of Mexico, (which the new theme park coming to Nuevo Vallarta will be centered around,) Per Te. was written for people who sow seeds which become trees, who design open spaces that invite reflection, that calm the soul. Don't miss your chance to see it at Teatro Vallarta on Saturday, June 10 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, June 11 at 6:00 pm, buy your tickets online via eticket.mx.

Amapas Neighborhood Association June Meet & Greet

The third Friday comes early this month - June 16 - and the Amapas Neighborhood Association has a very special treat! Our special guest will be amazingly talented and prolific local graphic and 'street' artist, muralist, and art-teacher/coach, Adrian Takano! You've probably seen some of his gorgeous giant murals online or around town – there's a beauty on Calle Cardenas in Colonia Emiliano Zapata. We'll get to meet him, hear him speak about his art and inspiration, and maybe have a chance to buy some of his beautiful art. This will be a real treat! Come join us at Casa Del Angel on Friday, June 16, from 6 to 8 pm. Bring some finger-food and/or adult beverage to share, and we'll see you there! Casa del Angel is located at 171 Hortencias in Colonia Alta Vista on the south side of Puerto Vallarta. (See area map) The Amapas Neighborhood Association is one of Vallarta's largest and most active neighborhood associations. With over 400 members, the Association's goal is to improve the quality of life in Amapas, focusing on security, infrastructure, responsible development and member social events.
