Democrats Abroad Costa Banderas August 2018 Events

August 3, 2018

With country committees and local chapters in over 80 countries around the world, Democrats Abroad is the official Democratic Party organization for the millions of Americans living outside the United States.

Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico - The Costa Banderas Chapter of Democrats Abroad Mexico continues in their efforts to register U.S. voters for the upcoming mid-term election on November 6, 2018.

This month, they'll be hosting their first Barrio Block Party and offering free voter registration assistance on Wednesdays from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Daiquiri Dick's. If you can't make it to the local voter registration assistance booth, you can register online at VoteFromAbroad.org or fvap.gov.

Fiesta en el Barrio

Everyone is invited to attend our first-ever Barrio Block Party, to be held on Sunday, August 12, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the corner of Calles Emilio Carranza and Corona in El Cerro Barrio, above El Centro. Click HERE to see the event's location on Google Maps.

Designed to build bridges between Vallarta's expat and Mexican communities, while encouraging dual Mexican-American citizens to register to vote, this family-friendly event will feature live music by Gilberto Luna & The Crazy Train, local food vendors, and fun activities to help expats and local Mexicans meet each other.

If this first event is successful, we would like to help sponsor more block parties that support other neighborhoods in our community. And, speaking of community support, everyone is encouraged to bring an in-kind donation of notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, crayons, colored pencils, or any other school supplies for local school children, to the August 12 event.

Also, don't forget to bring your pesos - yummy locally-made foods will be for sale on-site and there are two nearby stores where you can buy drinks and other goodies. Parking is challenging, so we suggest Uber or Taxi service.
