 Mantamar Beach Club Bar & Grill has resumed partial services after a fire damaged the palapa restaurant earlier this month. Although the reconstruction of the beach club is still underway, drink and snack service on the beach has resumed, and the pool reopened on January 22nd.

 Iberostar Hotels & Resorts based in Majorca, Spain, recently christened its tenth property in Mexico with the grand opening of Iberostar Playa Mita. The $136 million property is a 452-room, all-inclusive, five-star resort on the Nayarit coast, just north of Puerto Vallarta.

US and Canadian Boats Seized for Improper Paperwork

 After inspecting more than 1,600 vessels in late November, the Mexican government announced it had initiated seizure orders against 338 boats it accused of lacking a $70 permit. Some of the boats impounded are in our local marinas and are barred from leaving Mexico.

Whale Rescued from Fishing Net in Mexican Waters

 Personnel from government agencies, along with a tour company, headed the rescue of a humpback whale found snared in a fishing net in the Pacific ocean near Baja California Sur. A ship reported the incident after its crew spotted the entangled whale calf near its mother.
