IFC Celebrates Another Successful Year of Helping Kids

It seems that at this time of year everyone has something to celebrate. Members of the International Friendship Club have much to celebrate after another successful year of providing help to Mexican children and would like to thank everyone who contributed to its success.

Friends of PV Animals Host 5th 'Paws for the Cause'

Friends of Puerto Vallarta Animals, a group of dedicated volunteers who are committed to the well-being of the homeless pets staying at the municipally run pound, will host the 5th Annual 'Paws for the Cause' Fundraiser on January 18 from 6-10 pm at BabelBar on La Isla Rio Cuale.

Concert to Benefit Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe

On January 11, a benefit concert featuring the works of Bach, Scarlatti, Handel, Delta, Schubert, Franck and L. Cohen will be performed by local musicians at the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Admission is free, but donations to the church are encouraged.

Toys For Tots Vallarta Fundraisers a Roaring Success

Last weekend's Toys for Tots fundraisers were incredibly successful, with attendance up nearly 50% for both the golf tournament and the gala dinner dance. We now plan to deliver in excess of 5,000 toys and smiles to needy kids in the Banderas Bay area on Three Kings Day in early January.

Red Ribbon Gala Raises $210,158 Pesos for SETAC

SETAC, Puerto Vallarta's HIV/AIDS Community Center, announced the outcome of the Red Ribbon Gala held at Casa Karma Boutique Resort on Dec. 7. The $210,158 pesos raised will support the non-profit organization's efforts to reduce HIV and other STDs in the Banderas Bay area.

International Friendship Club: Helping at Christmas

Bob Hope had this to say about Christmas, 'My idea of Christmas, whether old-fashioned or modern, is very simple: loving others. Come to think of it, why do we have to wait for Christmas to do that?' We don't, of course, but Christmas can be a sad time for children, even in Vallarta.

Fundraising Event Raises $300,000 for Pasitos de Luz

The 'Illumination' dinner, show and art auction at Casa Karma Dec. 8th was a huge success, raising $300,000 pesos for the special needs children of Puerto Vallarta. Thanks go to many who helped make it such a success, including the chefs, musicians, donors, volunteers and attendees.

Mexico to Launch PrEP Pilot Program in Four Cities

Mexican health authorities announced that an HIV profilaxis pre-exposition program (PrEP) will be launched in four cities in Mexico, during the first quarter, 2018. Puerto Vallarta is among those cities, and SETAC will bring this powerful HIV prevention tool to the Banderas Bay area.
