Preceding our first Becas Breakfast of this season were the successful and fun events this month at the Culinary Jam Session and the Outback 10th Anniversary Celebration which brought compliments from our supporters and many pesos to the coffers of Becas Vallarta/America-Mexico Foundation to help pay for the 376 scholarships we are funding this school year.

We extend great praise to Café des Artistes, Casa Magna Marriott, Kaiser Maximilian, La Palapa, Le Kliff, Los Xitomates, Trio, Vista Grill and Vitea for their hard work and generosity at the Jam Session.

The proceeds from this beautiful event will fund 12 university scholarships or 15 prepa scholarships or 52 junior high scholarship for a whole year. AGAPE, Arturo & Los Hijos de Dios and Asilo San Juan Diego received an equal amount of funds for their all-important programs. Isn't that terrific?

We also extend sincere gratitude to Outback Steak House for including Becas Vallarta, along with Casa Hogar and Pasitos de Luz in their 10th Anniversary Celebration. It was a fabulous affair which raised a profusion on funds for each of us - the exact amount to be determined.

The first event of this season by Becas Vallarta alone - Becas Breakfast in Coco’s Kitchen on Púlpito right up from Los Muertos Beach will be at 9:30 am on Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Coco has been sprucing up the restaurant for us with some refinements as well as spiffy new chairs. Her menu has something that is sure to please everyone.

In addition to a sumptuous breakfast we will have super raffle prizes from Vallarta’s business community including Cassandra Shaw Jewelry, Casa Isabel, La Palapa Restaurant, Daiquiri Dick’s, River Café, Vallarta Botanical Gardens, Lucy’s CuCu Cabaña, Teatro Vallarta, El Arrayán, Liverpool, Gold’s Gym, Canopy Tours and many more. There will also be a Silent Auction of paintings and exquisite jewelry.

Tickets are already almost sold out, so give me at call at (322) 223-1371 or 044-322-182-0215 or email me at phvicars(at)gmail.com. These breakfasts are so much fun and give everyone an opportunity to meet and greet friends, old and new, as well as an opportunity to help fund the scholarships of deserving local girls and boys of sparse economic resources.
